I should know better than to get my hopes up about vehicles. I was hoping to share that I purchased a bullnose. But, it didnt work out. Moving on, the search continues.

Ray - Sorry that didn't work out for you.  I know you want a Bullnose, soon, so hope that happens.

Something will pop up. No big deal. It was a nice truck, but I will have to just keep driving dads truck until I find one. Hopefully dads truck doesnt disentigrate into a pile of rust in the mean time.

Once I get the new addition running and driving I will get back to this garage. Probably do concrete soon.

I've let this sit idle for awhile. I will be milling some Pine logs this weekend, drying and stacking the lumber, to build the handrail for the loft finally.

Anybody got any cool designs for handrail?

I designed this using Dassault Systemmes DraftSight & had the panels plasma-cut locally.  Lisa & I (mainly she) hand-sanded all the edges smooth; then I belt-sanded them (for the brushed look), welded them to the top & bottom strips, clearcoated them, and assembled them onto the stainless tubes (which I hand-cut & then clearcoated):

The plan for the actual wood handrail was always to use cedar that grew on our property, but I haven't found anyone yet who will mill a log or 2 for me down to the size I need.  That's why we still have the cheap undersized painted one.

Thanks.  The first furniture we bought together was a bed frame with reddish-stained wood, and a gently-curving brushed nickel tube as an accent on the headboard.  So that became our motif throughout the house: a brushed-nickel/stainless curve/ellipse, and cedar-red wood.  When I designed this house, I couldn't find any banister that looked the way we wanted; and the finish-carpenter was going to charge a ridiculous price to build something from cheap wood.  So I came up with a few ideas, and we picked that one: overlapping ellipses.  They're sized & spaced to meet the building codes (height of the handrail above the stairs, and no gap in the balusters large enough for a 2" sphere to pass through).

The other pics in that photo album show the rest of the house.  The first few dozen show the fixtures & materials we chose, ending with the floorplan that I sent to the architect.  Then there are a whole bunch of construction pics, that are pretty boring.  But the ~2-dozen after the banister are the last few things being finished up, and the "completed" house (if there is such a thing).
