Flatbed design?

essmaker
I am nearly giving up on finding a bed for my 85 (dual tank 6 3/4 styleside). Next best option is to build a flatbed for it. I'm thinking steel frame with wood deck...something that I would make nice.

Does anyone have any design plans or pictures of any worth pointing to?

I know Ray Cecil made an all wood flatbed for a pickup that ended up on a farm in Kentucky.

There were CAD drawings.

If you're considering a steel bed frame with wooden deck, you should probably look at the body builders handbook here on the site.
It has all the critical dimensions of bolt holes, the heights of bends in the frame, axle location and travel, etc...
