Bruce! Your generosity is noted, and is much appreciated!

Holly and I are very much excited about our new adventure. We are still undecided exactly where we will land, but fate has more to do with that than we do. As fate would have it, our neighbors just expressed interest in buying our land. They said they would be ready when we are.

Bruce, Springfield will be too far north for us more than likely. We wish to buy 30+ acres on or near the White River, Ouchita River or Buffalo River.

We are beginning to ponder the idea of running a private, rural Airbnb/fishing/kayaking/horseback riding/primitive campsite/cabin rental recreation business. We will see how finances are in 1.5 years. We've decided to sell as much non essential items to help raise more money.

Holly and I are 100% in step with one another, cooperative, visionary, and SICK and TIRED of the city, corporations, and being told what is practical. We do not wish to live a boring life of safety and predictibility. No risk, no reward. No guts, no glory.

Gary, with 30+ acres so close to you, maybe we can host a Ford Truck Show. Mud drags, donut contests, loudest exhaust contest, tug of war etc. Got to spice up those shows Gary! The younguns want ACTION, and carnage. Hahaha.

Theres a lot of stuff you can do with 30+ acres, especially in that type of climate.
Idk how much of a green thumb you have but theres always some specialty plants people pay good money for. My gf works in an herb shop and every once in a while she blows my socks off with some of their prices.
When we moved out of the city I looked at a lot of revenue sources and the one thing that stuck in my mind from the oldschool homesteader types was they all suggest having money coming from different sources.
Around here, people deliver firewood, haul water, fix roads etc. The guy that delivers water around here makes 50+ per hour. I dont know what the equivalent would be in your neck of the woods but theres gotta be something.
Building a cabin to rent out arbnb style will definately pay some bills too. It all adds up.

Sam, yeah, we've been planning this lifestyle for 10 years. Diversifying income is the key.

I will have a shop to fix vehicles, Airbnb, cattle, chickens, and we do grow food. I'm 90% carnivore, so I dont require a lot of fruit or veg, but the animals will need the diversity in veg to make me some good eggs, bacon, and beef.

We plan to be able to pay cash for the land. That is HUGE. If you cant increase your income, decrease your spending. What better way to decrease your spending than to pay cash for the tools you need, and live simply?

Ok, we know it wont be simple, and we will have to make some tough decisions, but we are prepared to do it. We are 100% tired of the city life, corporate BS, snobbery etc. We are using our income know to save, and we are just biting our tongues and being patient until the stars and finances align. We will get our chance at the dream, and I will be ready when the chance comes.
