Dana 44HD axle shaft seal

Prospect62
Hey guys, does anybody have any tips for installing this seal on my 85 F250? I've worked on many Dana front axles in my day but this is my first TTB and this is the first time I've ever encountered a seal that looks like this odd thing.

I can reach my hand into the housing all the way to the differential so I assume I can just reach in and pop this in place? Or am I missing something? I know I should probably lube up the rubber parts with some gear oil but are there any other tricks? I can't find any mention of servicing this seal in any of my shop manuals.

Hey there Prospect62,

I thought I'd bump your post and see if I can get some answers for us both, I currently have my 44HD with the Knuckles out and I'm working to confirm I am ordering the correct parts as well.
Thanks,
Alex
