Actually the part I am referring to is the little ball stud the linkage snaps onto . It has some Chevy stuff on it now.

I have one of those plates you are talking about. I have tried it every which way. I cant make it work. I let Jason try it every which way with no luck. I was looking at Edelbrock's website and some guy gave it a 5 star review with a comment saying " works perfect!". I am puzzled because I couldt even get tech support to tell me how it is supposed to be mounted...

The Dodge: 2006 Ram 2500 CCSB 4X4 5.9 HO Cummins (The reliable ride that cant keep an AC in itself) (5th AC go around almost complete)

Oh, the ball stud. I think I went to O'Reilly's and bought a kit of ball studs and found the one that fits the Ford linkage.

And that plate is awful. If I remember correctly you are supposed to put one of the two bolts that go into the manifold through a bolt hole in the plate. And the other bolt goes into the manifold and catches an edge of the plate. I think. Seemed awfully Mickey Mouse to me.

The linkage kit has arrived.

I am going to build some more on the motor today.

I may even get to the heads.

The linkages are installed and I believe for the most part the carb is ready!!

Other than adding the Ford ball for the linkage and removing the other Chevy piece it is ready. But, the fast idle is set high as I wanted it up for the pics I took. However, you'll need it up for the cam break in, so I'd leave it there until you are read to adjust the idle mix, idle speed, etc.

Here is an update for the spawn of Satan 1805 carb. Edelbrock and some wanky carb manufacturers use a threaded fitting for the fuel supply line that is only common to them. The dont use, NPT, AN, JIC, O Ring Boss, compression, flare or anything that you could find in a common store. The use a 5/8"-20 fitting and the damn thing is $10 vs $1-$2 for just about anything else.

So after hours of research and calling Edelbrock tech support I find out what I didnt know and that it is going to be expensive.

Now, here is the bonus shafting:
This carb has one of these fittings on each side!

The carb had some kind of bubba rigged banjo bolt set up that couldnt be saved nor adapted into what I am wanting to do so it went to the trash. The other side had a hose barb fitting on it that was cleverly plugged off with something. I am faced with (1) trying to find a $10 plug if there is such a thing, (2) going with the bubba cap on the hose barb (which we all know damn good and well I wont be doing), or (3) modifying the hose barb fitting by (A) cutting the nipple off and tapping it to 1/8" NPT for a pipe plug to thread in or (B) cutting the hose nipple off , welding/soldering it up and turning it down on the lathe.

Option (A) can be done by yours truly at my shop, but may not be the best looking option. Option (B) requires a trip to the Garagemahal and would probably look the best. I am still kicking it around. I have time to burn because my SS fastener kit is on the way as I will be needing it to finish the build. So no rush. I probably do need to make a trip to Podunk for maybe painting or powder coating parts.
