Any antique Ford experts on here?

Gentlemen,

Trying to help my brother in law find some parts and/or information. He's looking for front hubs for this car, but what what exactly he has now is not known for certain. The car is a 1932 Ford that was presumably modified/hotrodded sometime in the 1960's. He thinks that the front axle is original, but he thinks that the spindles are 1948. They apparently have a square mounting flange if that means anything. The drums and backing plates, wheel cylinders, etc he believes are from 1953-1960 Ford F1 (or F100?) pickup. He is looking for a set of hubs for this thing, but he's not sure what the existing hubs came from. They are apparently 5x4.5 bolt pattern, and he has the wheel bearing and seal numbers and sizes, but not the Ford part numbers.

Anybody know where to look for information on this stuff to try and identify exactly what is installed? Somebody to call?

He says he has found some hubs online, but they have 5x5.5 bolt pattern, and his are 5x4.5, so not sure what/where his hubs came from.

He can measure what he has, and he knows the bearing and seal sizes, but that's about it.

Any words of wisdom?

I'm not sure how to answer the question of "Any antique Ford experts on here?" I've taught my grandtwins that I'm "antiquated". But I don't consider myself a "Ford expert".

Having said that, I have the MPC's back to 1949 for the cars, and 1948 for the trucks. So, could I maybe look something up that would help?

Does the MPC have diagrams back that far similar to what is available for the Bullnose era?

A picture of the front wheel hub and spindle area would be helpful for 1948 trucks and also 1956. It might help confirm what exactly he has. The car one would be good too, but he thinks the spindles are from 1948, which is prior to your MPC.

If you want to move the discussion off the forum that is fine too.

Also curious what the bolt pattern was for the wheels on the 50's Ford trucks.

First, there's no problem doing the discussion here. We talk about Chryslers, boats, etc. Why not an early Ford?

On the bolt pattern, from 1949 on it looks like the smaller trucks used 5 x 5.5".

Rembrant, it sounds like you may have gotten your issue figured out. However you should tell your brother-in-law about Ford barn. They have four different forums depending on the age of your vehicle so I rely on that site heavily for when I need help with my 1955 crown Victoria. It’s not quite as active as this site but some of the folks have amazing documentation, parts numbers, advice etc. he could also hop around to the other age categories for parts modified from other era vehicles.
