Another new guy with a Bullnose in rehab

Rembrant
Hi Folks,

Thought I would join up to keep an eye on all things Bullnose, and broaden my knowledge (I still have LOTS of questions...lol).

My truck is an all original 1984 F150 flareside 2wd w/302 and 3-on-the-tree. I grew up around Fords, and had a 1980 Bullnose that I sold back in about 1994, but I haven't been around them much since then. I started driving in 1988, when the two vehicles in the yard were my mother's 1980 Pinto, and my old man's 1978 F150 4x4. We soon after got a brand new 1988 F250 4x4, but I didn't get to drive that one much;).

Anyhow, I'm working bit by bit to make my old '84 pickup a decent driver, and learning a lot along the way.

Cheers,
Rem

Home is Atlantic Canada, in NS. Born and raised here. I'm east of New England, or specifically, east of Maine. Lots of rocks, trees, and fog...lol. Winter is relatively mild here by Canadian standards.

I still see the odd Bullnose Ford around, but not often. Most of them have long rusted away around here.

I've been having fun with my truck. It was an old rattlebox that wasn't safe to drive when I bought it, but it's coming around. Plans in the works are a 4bbl swap, and a 5spd swap, among other things. I have an instrument cluster (with a tach) on the way from I believe Delaware, so that will be going in soon. I even have a bottle of Testor's fluorescent orange paint here thanks to information found on this site;). I still need to work on the steering a bit, and install a RedHead steering gear.

Other than that, I'm just going to pick at it when time and money allow. It needs body work, but that's the last thing on my priority list currently.

Glad it is "relatively mild here by Canadian standards".  Ray already has snow on the ground, and implied it might not leave until spring.  I can't comprehend that.

And I can well imagine how the Bullnose are extinct there.  Salt and these trucks just don't make good companions.

Anyway, it seems like you have a plan for your truck.  Start a thread on it and I'll follow along.

Yeah, much different winters in the west, cold and dry. We get more wet out this way.

I filed out my signature info but I don't see it showing up with my posts...

Yes sir, I'll start a thread for my winter project as I will likely have lots of questions as I move along;).

Thanks Gary.

I see the sig. perhaps it is your browser. I’ve found that Chrome doesn’t always show it, but Edge and IE seem to.

Yes sir, you are correct. I'm using Chrome, and it is not showing. I checked Edge and it was indeed there;).

Thanks Gary.
