90 F350 4x4 low-mileage drive train and 460 for sale.

BullnoseLuvr
I'm posting here assuming someone would be interested as these parts will fit in the bullnose trucks and you all are the people I know.  If I should or would do better posting this to another forum someone let me know.  This is the only Ford truck forum I'm on.

I'm buying a complete '90 F350 4x4 460 automatic truck for the snow plow and front seat.  Everything else has to go.  It was used exclusively as a plow truck so it has only 28K miles.  The owner tells me the original engine failed early so this long block has only 17k and it ran fine when it was parked three years ago.  It is rusted all the way around halfway up to the beltline and though the truck is in one piece, the frame is broken.

I have no room in my garage and driveway so if I get some interest I'll rent a garage long enough to part it out.  I'm located in Northern New Jersey looking for local pickup.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, that sounds very much like the truck I got my Zf-5 out of!

I'm in Lower Connecticut.
What town in Northern New Jersey?

I've always wanted a SAS, but I'd have to hustle up some scratch.
What's the ratio?
I'll post you my cell# if you want to bargain.

I'm also piecing together some pickups for my friend Theo.
He might be interested in a more stout driveline for his blue truck, if all the computers and harness are fairly intact.
 Jim,

Jim,

Sorry I didn't get back sooner.  I've been running my a$$ off since I posted.  I don't know the ratios -- I might be able to find out before I bring it home and pour over it.  I have no clue what the axles are worth but I'll do my research.  You're talking front only or all including transmission?

Thanks,

Mark

The build tag is going to start wilt something like 4.10 3.73 or 3.55.
Sometimes the bolt holding it to the cover obscures the first digit, but you still know what it is.

Yes, I would only want the front axle & driveshaft. Panhard bar and pitman arm.

But let me ask Theo. He's got more trucks than sidelines and he is looking to build or scrap all five of them this spring.
I think he's only going to keep the step side, soooo

Thanks.  I'm having someone check.  Were those the only ratios offered?

I'd say 90% of 4wd 460's were 4.10's
If there is a 'L' instead of a decimal it is limited slip. (4L10)

But you could order whatever ratios were offered.
3.73, 3.55 & (I think) 3.27

Production numbers and stats from someone like Kevin Marti would be interesting.
