351W on LPG

Hello,
I could'nt find anything about LPG whithin this posts.
So here is my question.
As you all might know you are very fortunate to ride on fuelprices we europeans are dreaming of.
As my new truck will be a thursty one I had to promise my wife to run it on LPG.
Has anyone of you some kind of experience with that ?

Thanx for that Gary,
we do have professional specialized shops for such installations. This is not what I am worried about.
I ' am just asking myself if the engines durability will be influenced by this. For example if the gaskit can cope.
Well we will see, I might find some people heren in germany where it is mote common.
The LPGprice is about 1/3.

From what I have seen, propane fueled engines run very clean and last quite well. Years ago I drove a GMC pickup, V6, 4 speed Hydra-Matic and running on propane, it was loaned to us for use taking our scout troop to a campout.

Yes, propane/LPG does burn extremely cleanly, although with a bit less power. People I know that run it claim the engine oil comes out at 5000 or 6000 miles looking as clean as it went in. And, it doesn’t harm gaskets or seals.

Here in Oklahoma we have an abundance of LPG and many companies, school districts, and local governments have converted their vehicles to it. And no one I’ve talked to has had anything bad to say about it - except for the limited availability. I think I recently heard that there are 5 LPG filling stations in the greater Tulsa area, as opposed to at least 5 gasoline stations in the little town we live in of 7,000 people.

But if you have adequate filling stations there, then it would be a clean, green, and cheap fuel for your truck.

Yeah, we have LPG on almost every Station troughout europe bute surely in Germany.
The nice thing is anyhow if I need some more power for acceleration pr steep hills I then just switch to gasoline.
Another plus is the range is extended.
Well thanx, the decision is made. I will make an appointment as soon as I get the truck.
