I like it, and can get past the “no motor or trans”, but the “no title” bit would put me off.

I don’t get that. I was looking at a vehicle on craigslist and it had no title.

But a long description of what you could do (and how much $), to get the title in California and then Oregon.

Why don’t people take care of this? A bit of a pet peeve to me. I agree, I just move along.

$2800 for that rust bucket with no drivetrain, no title, and they can't even spell anniversary correctly?  They are smoking some good stuff for sure.....

Some states do not give titles on older cars /trucks they go by BOS (bill of sale).
Yes I could go get one but to spend hours in the DMV for something that may only be sold within that state why would I?
My 75 AMC Gremlin dose not have a title and at the time if I wanted one had to put up a $500 bond. If I want to sell it would be posted that way "no title" as there is no way I am going back to CT from NC to get one.

Interesting, I don’t ever remember not having a title for a vehicle. Didn’t know that.

I should say around here. I’ve seen listings where people say I’ll give you a bill of sale and the DMV will give you a title. Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what their computer tells them. It can be hit or miss.

When I was given the '50 Chevy pickup it was w/o title as the original had recently burned up in a house fire.  And when I contacted the tag office they had the state go back through their records to find the title so I could pay the back taxes and the penalty, which could easily have run into many thousands of dollars.  Fortunately they didn't find the title and had to make a new one.

Alabama did not issue titles before 1975.
